ON THE JOB ACTIONS
Ask for input from others

Everybody has a unique perspective. If you are struggling to find a solution or come up with a new idea, you can ask people you know for their input. It might help you to see things from a new perspective.

Examine current practices

Established processes might no longer be serving the purpose for which they were created as well as they could be. If you become aware of a problem caused by a situation like this, consider how the process might be adapted to work more effectively. If required to bring people up to speed with a suggested change, start by explaining what will remain the same before addressing potential changes. Explain the purpose of the changes and be prepared for some reluctance or questions.

Learn to tolerate ambiguity

Creativity and change will cause uncertainty to some degree, which is a source of stress for a lot of people. If you can learn to tolerate these situations it will enable you to more easily consider alternatives and potential experimentation, which in turn means you will more easily come up with multiple solutions.

Be open to feedback

Constructive feedback from others can help you to see yourself and how you work in a new light, which can be a catalyst for a positive change.
